U.S. Consulate Donates American Law Library to Heilongjiang University

During his visit to Harbin, Consul General Stephen Wickman presented the American Law Library to the Heilongjiang University Law School.  The American Law Library is a set of key texts on American law and its practice translated into Chinese.  A product of the U.S. Embassy, Beijing’s book translation program, these texts offer a unique perspective into U.S. law.

 

Harbin Institute of Technology Students Discuss U.S.-China Relations

Consul General Wickman presents the history of U.S.-China Relations

January 7, 2010 -Students at the Harbin Institute of Technology took time out from preparing for their upcoming exams to attend Consul General Wickman’s talk on U.S.-China relations.  Meeting with a total of over 60 students from various majors, Consul General Wickman gave a brief presentation on the history of U.S.-China relations and discussed in detail both the highlights and challenges of this partnership.  During the Question and Answer session following his presentation, students asked the Consul General about the U.S. Government’s environmental policy and Taiwan policy, his personal experience working and living in China and his thoughts on the future of the U.S.-China relationship.

Consul General Wickman presents the history of U.S.-China Relations

January 7, 2009 – During his visit to the opening of the 26th Harbin Ice and Snow Festival, Consul General Stephen Wickman prioritized visiting six of Harbin’s educational institutions.

On January 6th, Consul General Wickman, Public Affairs Officer Mara Andersen, Cultural Specialist Yu Li and Protocol Specialist Zhang Chunbo visited the campuses of the Heilongjiang University of Science and Technology and the Heilongjiang University of Chinese Medicine.  The following day, he visited Harbin Normal University, Harbin College, Heilongjiang University and the Harbin Institute of Technology.  Emphasizing ongoing partnership and opportunities for cooperation, the Consul General and Public Affairs Officers highlighted educational resources available through the U.S. Consulate, Shenyang.
